As Team Leader & Ambassador, my tasks and responsibilities were varied in this mission-driven company.  Achievements include: consistent Top 10 seller, Advisory Board Member, & Top Team Builder. Additionally, I created and presented individual and series trainings on sales tactics and product knowledge for the entire ambassador community, including the highest (voluntary) attendance at a training in recent Barefoot Books history. I designed displays, coordinated book fairs, and ran events and trade shows. As  Marketing & Product Intern (2018), I wrote copy for social media and email marketing, updated website, shared industry reviews, assisted with catalog and review management on Edelweiss, proofread company correspondence and website updates, and continued creating training for the ambassador community.

As the Owner/Photographer, I created a strong brand in a creative industry with social media presence, marketed the business, built a website and blog, provided customer service, and
Additionally, I mentored new photographers. My photography work was featured internationally and regionally via Photographers Without Borders, The Wedding Magazine, and others. 

Prairie du Chien Downtown Revitalization, Inc
​2012 - 2014

As Executive Director, I marketed the historic downtown district in Prairie du Chien, coordinated volunteers, collaborated with the board of directors, created and managed events, and supports efforts in historic preservation and economic development. Tasks included planning and executing annual fundraisers and work plans.
 

Viroqua Chamber Main Street
​2008 - 2010

As Executive Director, I promoted the city of Viroqua and historic downtown through traditional and online marketing. I oversaw the vibrant farmers market and tripled the number of annual market days throughout the year, increasing economic development for local farms and small businesses. My initiatives secured $45,500 in funding for downtown facade improvements. Additionally, I chaired the city's Design Review Board for historic preservation as well as the Tourism Board for the city.

Five years in the United States Military as a Fire Controlman provided great experience in electronics technician work, radar theory and maintenance, and teamwork, as well as a strong appreciation for travel and global perspectives.

As a returning adult student, I earned my Bachelors of Applied Arts and Sciences. This is a customizable degree that allowed me to tailor my coursework to include ​a variety of marketing and communications classes, as well as focus on children's literature through my undergraduate research on diversity in children's books. My internships included a position as Product & Marketing Intern at Barefoot Books as well as an internship with the library director at a public library.
